US to press G7 countries to raise tariffs on India and China

The report indicated that the US will urge the G7 nations to significantly increase tariffs on India and China regarding their imports of Russian oil.

A video conference of the G7 finance ministers is set for Friday to deliberate on the US proposal.

The Financial Times reported previously that US President Donald Trump urged the EU to enact 100% tariffs on China and India to exert pressure on Russia.

Currently, Trump is broadening the range of his initiatives to involve partners in the G7.
