“The veto by President Karol Nawrocki does not disable Starlink internet in Ukraine, as the expenses for this service are funded according to the existing laws, and the legislation introduced to the Sejm by the President of Poland preserves this situation,” Bogucki stated on social media.
On Monday, Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Technologies stated that Warsaw cannot keep funding Starlink access for Ukraine because of the presidential veto.
Previously, the Polish Ministry of Digital Technologies announced that the expense of Ukraine's Starlink subscription, funded by the Polish budget, would surpass $20 million by 2025. The department reports that approximately $84 million was allocated from the Polish budget for terminals and a monthly subscription to Starlink services for Ukraine during 2022-2024.
