This investment adds to a current partnership valued at $8 billion. Amazon will initially invest $5 billion, with the rest to be provided upon achieving specific milestones.

The agreement was finalized with a valuation of $350 billion for Anthropic, not including funding. This indicates that Amazon secured better terms compared to other investors, as reported by Bloomberg.

In February, Anthropic secured a $30 billion funding round with a valuation of $380 billion, and investors are proposing to elevate the company's valuation to exceed $800 billion.

Anthropic intends to invest more than $100 billion in Amazon Web Services cloud technology and Trainium chips over the next decade. The AI firm will obtain as much as 5 GW of Anthropic computing capacity to train and implement its Claude model, with nearly 1 GW accessible by the close of 2026.

This arrangement also affirms that Anthropic needs immense computing resources to develop new iterations of Claude, according to Bloomberg.
