"We close all of our retail stores outside of Greater China until March 27," the statement said.

It is noted that the additional measures to protect employees and customers are related to the fact that the number of cases of infection with coronavirus continues to grow.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization about an outbreak of unknown pneumonia in the city of Wuhan in the central part of the country (Hubei Province). Specialists found that the causative agent of the disease was a new coronavirus; later the disease was officially named COVID-19. On March 11, WHO reported that the disease spread has become pandemic.

According to the WHO, over 132 thousand cases of new coronavirus were recorded in 123 countries and foreign territories worldwide. The number of deaths from the virus exceeded 5 thousand. On March 12, the State Health Committee of the PRC announced that the peak of the epidemic in the country had already passed.
