BMW grows net profit in first half of 2022

The German carmaker Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) reported in a statement that its net profit attributable to shareholders climbed over 1.7 times year over year to €12.981 billion in the first half of 2022.

Comparatively to a year ago, diluted earnings per share increased to €19.63 from €11.49. Revenue grew by 19.1% on a yearly basis to €65.912 billion.

From January to June, the business cut car deliveries by 13.4% to 1.16 million vehicles, of which 1.016 million were under the BMW brand (a 13.7 percent decline). 140,675 Minis were shipped, a decrease of 10.9 percent.

Net income attributable to shareholders was €2.84 billion at the end of the second quarter, which was down 39.8% from the same period last year. In comparison to €7.23 a year earlier, earnings per share were €4.3. Revenue increased 21.6 percent from the previous year, to €34.77 billion. 563,187 automobiles were delivered between April and June, a 19.8% decrease.
