Boston Scientific buys its rival Axonics for $3.7B


Axonics, a leader in medical technology, announced in a press release that it is to be acquired by US medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific for an estimated sum of $3.7 billion.

Boston Scientific is going to pay $71 for each share in Axonics.

The transaction is anticipated to close in the first half of 2024 and will be paid for in cash. According to the press announcement, it will enable Boston Scientific to increase the range of urology solutions it offers.

In premarket trading on Monday, Axonics' stock price surged 21.1 percent to $69.72 per share. The value of papers from Boston Scientific was almost constant.
