As a result, the government was able to create a record number of new sustainable energy generating plants.

Green energy investment reached 29 billion yuan (about $4.3 billion) in the first four months of this year. This is up 204 percent from January to April 2021. China spent 51.3 billion yuan on solar energy in the first 11 months of the year.

Beijing is rapidly boosting investment in solar and wind projects throughout the country, with plans to establish a vast and flexible system by 2030 to cut carbon dioxide emissions. Emissions are expected to be fully eliminated by 2060.

Coal will continue to play an important part in China's energy balance during the project’s implementation: plans have been broadened to adapt power facilities that use coal as a reserve for renewable energy sources.
