According to Bloomberg, which cited sources, managers of Chinese state-owned businesses and government-backed organizations in eight Chinese regions has outlawed employees from bringing Apple and other foreign gadgets to work. Employees were urged to adopt local manufacturers' technology instead.

The precise count of businesses that enforced these prohibitions is unknown.

The agency claims that this policy, which has been implemented in several enterprises over the last two months, may cause a de facto "lockout" of Samsung and Apple in certain regions of China. Apple shares decreased by less than 1% in response to this news.

Chinese authorities forbade government officials from using iPhones and other gadgets manufactured by foreign corporations at the beginning of September. Bloomberg notes that the limitations at the time only applied to a select few Beijing and Tianjin businesses.
