The present CEO of Starbucks, Laxman Narasimhan, is resigning from both his role and the board of directors with immediate effect. Rachel Ruggeri, who is the Chief Financial Officer, will serve as the company's temporary CEO until September 9th.
In a press release, Starbucks stated that since Niccol assumed control of Chipotle in 2018, he has revolutionized the company, establishing higher benchmarks in the sector and leading to substantial business expansion. In that period, Chipotle experienced almost a 100% increase in revenue and a 700% growth in profits. Chipotle's stock price has increased ninefold since Niccol took over.
