Deutsche Bank's net profit jumps by 31% in the first half of 2022

The largest bank in Germany, Deutsche Bank, reported a net profit of €2.438 billion in the first half of 2022, up 31% from the same period the previous year, according to the bank's financial report.



Compared to earnings of €0.68, diluted earnings per share were €0.9. Revenue increased by 4% from a year ago to €13.977 billion.

When compared to the same quarter in 2021, net income increased about 1.5 times, reaching €1.211 billion. Comparatively to a year ago, diluted earnings per share were €0.34 as opposed to €0.21. During the quarter, the bank's revenues increased by 7% to €6.65 billion.

According to Deutsche Bank, in the second quarter, it lessened its credit exposure to Russia. During the quarter, additional contingent risk was decreased by 42% to €0.6 billion.
