EBRD supplies record amount of investments to shareholder countries in 2023

According to a press release posted on the bank's website, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) awarded its shareholder countries a record investment volume of €13.1 billion in 2023.

With Iraq's admission, the EBRD's shareholder count increased to 74 in November.

"In 2023, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development secured a record €13.1 billion investments to its economies," the news release stated. In 2023, the EBRD funded 464 projects in total, which was a record for the bank. More than ten billion euros, or 80% of all investments, were made in the private sector, setting a record.

The bank's environmental mission achieved a new milestone when the institution invested over €6.5 billion to finance the green economy.

Out of the €26.2 billion that were raised in total in 2023, €23.4 billion came from private indirect investments.
