The statement said that during discussions, EU member states expressed that they do not currently identify any urgent threats to the security of supply.

On March 4, during separate extraordinary meetings of the Gas Coordination Group and the Oil Coordination Group, the European Commission and EU member states addressed the issue of securing reliable gas and oil supplies for the European Union.

Since the meeting of the Oil Coordination Group on February 25, no oil has been taken from the additional reserves, and they continue to be at a high level.

The European Commission stated that gas storage levels in the EU remain stable. It added that the Commission will continue to keep track of the situation and maintain ongoing communication with EU member states and market participants. If the Strait of Hormuz remains closed for an extended period or if there are additional disruptions, the security of oil and gas supplies to the European Union will be reviewed again.
