Eurozone economy grows stronger than forecast in Q4

The economy of the Eurozone grew by 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2025 when compared to the third quarter, as indicated by initial data released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

In annual terms, GDP growth was 1.3%.

Experts on average anticipated a quarterly increase in Eurozone GDP of 0.2% and an annual increase of 1.2%.

In the third quarter, the Eurozone economy experienced a growth of 0.3% when compared to the previous three months, and it also grew by 1.4% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Germany's GDP increased by 0.3% in the third quarter, which covers October to December, while France saw a growth of 0.2%, Italy recorded 0.3%, and Spain experienced an increase of 0.8%.

The economy of the European Union expanded by 0.3% during the most recent quarter when compared to the previous three months, and it grew by 1.4% when compared to the same period last year.

This is the initial estimate of the GDP change, which is one of three expected. The second evaluation will be released on February 13.

Based on initial data, the GDP growth for the entire year of 2025 was 1.5%, while the EU's GDP growth was 1.6%.
