Fears Of Coronavirus Spreading Within Community In US After 3 New Unexplained Cases
After the reporting of three new unexplained coronavirus cases on the West Coast of the United States, there are concerns arising that the disease is now spreading within communities in the country.

No known connection to a country badly hit by the coronavirus outbreak was has been found in the three patients who are from California, Oregon and Washington State.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), so far there have been reports of a total of 59 confirmed coronavirus cases in the US.

On the other hand, the South Korean army was mobilized on Saturday as the number of cases of the virus infection rises in the country to report the largest number of cases by a country outside of mainland China. Reports said that Korean soldiers were seen to be disinfecting large parts of Daegu which is a city in the south-eastern part of the country which has become the centre of the coronavirus outbreak in South Korea. A sharp rise in the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus was reported by South Korea on Friday. The total number of infected now stands at 3,150 while the a total of 17 people have died in the country so far at the hands of the respiratory illness.

A positive case of coronavirus was detected in an older woman with chronic health conditions, said health officials in California's Santa Clara County on Friday. Officials have said that the woman had not traveled to any country that had been severely hit by the virus outbreak or had even been in contact with anyone who had been to affected countries., officials said.

"This new case indicates that there is evidence of community transmission but the extent is still not clear," said Dr Sara Cody, director of the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.

Also testing positive for the virus infection was a school employee in Clackamas County, Oregon health officials said.  Another case concerned a high school student in Snohomish County, said authorities of the Washington State. None of the above two had any contact with anyone known to have the illness nor had they traveled to any region that has been hit by the outbreak.

With the reporting o these three new cases, the total number of unexplained infections of the coronavirus in the US touched four with California reporting another such case last Tuesday.

Democrats were attacked by US president Donald Trump for politicising the outbreak, on Friday. "This is their new hoax," he told a rally in South Carolina. He accused the Democrats of advocating a policy of open borders and said this was "a direct threat to the health and wellbeing of all Americans".
