Sources reported that military officials informed Congress members during a briefing this week that the US conflict with Iran incurred costs of approximately $11.3 billion in the initial week.

According to CBS News, this figure represents the lower limit of the estimate and excludes the expenses incurred for deploying equipment prior to the operation starting on February 28.

Delaware Senator Chris Coons, the leading Democrat on the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, informed reporters on Wednesday: "I anticipate the overall expense of the operational endeavor to exceed that amount substantially."

He stated that it is reasonable to believe the daily expense of the war is over $1.5 billion, though this fluctuates daily based on military activities. He mentioned that the expense of restocking the ammunition utilized in the conflict probably "has already surpassed $10 billion."

The senator expressed his anticipation that the Pentagon will request Congress to approve another funding package for the conflict with Iran. He did not indicate the amount he anticipated the administration would ask for.
