France's GDP grows by 0.5% in Q2

According to a final estimate from the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Research (Insee), the second-largest economy in Europe, France, had its GDP increase 0.5% over the previous quarter.

The amount did not alter from the initial estimation.

"Consumer spending by households grew... In the third quarter, gross fixed capital creation (GFC) slowed. In general, final domestic demand—as opposed to inventories—contributed favorably to GDP expansion. This quarter's GDP growth was positively impacted by foreign commerce," the report reads.

As a result, although imports were steady, the country's exports climbed by 0.9%.
