“Let's just say that in the current quarter it is very likely that there will be some negative impact. What will happen next? We will simply observe and evaluate. It’s too early to assess the consequences of the coronavirus for the global economy, but it’s not too early to admit that we live in a world that is increasingly susceptible to all kinds of shocks,” said Ms. Georgieva, answering questions at the Washington Center for Global Development.

Recall that a new type of virus 2019-nCoV was detected in China at the end of December 2019. According to Chinese epidemiologists, the seafood market in Wuhan could become a hotbed of spread. Cases of the disease were recorded in other countries. The number of coronavirus victims has already exceeded 200 people.
