The statement reads that all ships planning to pass through the Strait of Hormuz have been informed that, in order to follow maritime security guidelines and prevent potential collisions with naval mines, they should select different routes through the Strait of Hormuz.

ISNA and Tasnim news agencies released a map that highlights a large circular area marked as a "danger zone" in the central section of the Strait of Hormuz. This strait is a vital international shipping route, and there is likelihood that Iran has placed naval mines in this area.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy also released a map showing different routes through the Strait of Hormuz, intended to assist ships passing through the area in avoiding naval mines.

Commercial vessels are recommended to follow a safe path in the northern section of the Strait of Hormuz, close to the Iranian coastline.  Under the traffic separation scheme, ships leaving the Persian Gulf are required to follow the southern coastline of the Iranian island of Larak, while vessels entering the Gulf must navigate along the northern side of the island.
