The company McDonald's filed an application for registration of ten new trademarks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including for the creation of a virtual restaurant McDonald's and McCafe, which will deliver food to homes. This is reported by the American Forbes, citing a tweet by specialized lawyer Josh Gerben, who published the application numbers.

Gerben noted that one of the marks is being registered for a "virtual food and beverage restaurant" that will deliver orders both offline and online. And several other marks are registered for a "real and virtual online concert service" under the McDonald's and McCafe brands.

According to the lawyer, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is likely to approve the trademarks, although the review process often takes eight to nine months. The day before McDonald's began the registration process, bakery chain Panera Bread also filed for a virtual restaurant with the bureau.
