Nvidia triples quarterly net profit

American graphics chip manufacturer Nvidia Corp. significantly boosted its net income and revenue in the initial quarter of fiscal 2027, with both surpassing market predictions.

The firm also revealed an $80 billion repurchase plan and raised its dividend, yet its stock declined slightly in after-hours trading on Wednesday.

For the quarter that ended on April 26, Nvidia reported a net profit of $58.32 billion, translating to $2.39 per share, in contrast to $18.78 billion, or $0.76 per share, from the previous year.

The firm's quarterly earnings rose to $81.62 billion, up from $44.06 billion the previous year.

FactSet-surveyed analysts predict a net income of $42.9 billion with revenues totaling $78.9 billion.

The data center sector almost increased its revenue to $75.2 billion. Edge Computing earnings rose 29% to reach $6.4 billion.

"Demand has increased dramatically," stated the company’s CEO Jensen Huang. "The explanation is evident: the age of AI agents has begun."

The firm projects earnings of around $91 billion for the ongoing quarter.
