Peru will begin a new phase of economic reactivation in October

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra said that in October, the country is partially entering the fourth phase of economic reactivation, which includes a permit for rail and air travel.

"From October, we will partially start the fourth phase, because we need to be careful... and keep progress in reducing the number of hospitalized patients and deaths from COVID-19," the politician said during a press conference posted on his Facebook page.

During this phase, the country will allow carriage of passengers by rail, as well as air traffic, including international flights.

According to the president, the capacity of a number of commercial enterprises - shops and restaurants will also be increased, but establishments with a high concentration of people, such as bars, discos and cinemas, will remain closed.

Currently, 788,930 cases of the new coronavirus have been registered in the country, 644,345 people were discharged from hospitals, and 31,938 patients died.
