Rolls-Royce awarded $11 billion contract for nuclear submarine reactors

The UK Ministry of Defense revealed that it has awarded a contract to the British firm Rolls-Royce Holdings for the designing, building, and technical assistance of nuclear reactors for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarines.

It will be valued at $11 billion - the biggest contract of its kind between the British Ministry of Defense and Rolls-Royce Holdings.

The agreement is anticipated to enable the company to generate approximately 1 thousand new positions at its facility in Derby (East Midlands area). The agreement is set for duration of eight years.
