Stellantis to offer voluntary layoffs to half of white-collar workers in U.S.

11/14/2023

According to CNBC, European automaker Stellantis NV will provide voluntary termination with severance pay to half of its "white collar" workers in the United States.

Of the 12,700 non-unionized workers who have worked for the company for at least five years, 6,400 will be given this opportunity. The offer will end on December 8th.

In an email sent to CNBC, the company stated, "Stellantis is taking the necessary steps to protect the company and our operations against the backdrop of challenging market conditions for the U.S. auto industry. Stellantis will provide advantageous compensation benefits and voluntary severance options to non-union employees who choose to leave or retire."

The company declined to comment on the total number of planned layoffs and the estimated savings the company anticipates.
