The White House and the European Union have recently settled on 15% tariffs, yet automakers continue to incur a higher tariff of 27.5%. Winkelmann informed CNBC that numerous buyers are delaying their purchases as Lamborghinis begin at $400,000 until the tariffs settle.

“Some purchasers are holding off as they wish to confirm the final rates,” he stated. “They have become millionaires and billionaires for a reason; they understand their actions.”

Winkelmann stated that the tariffs would impact his company regardless, as it exclusively manufactures cars in Italy and has not thought about relocating production to the U.S. The effect will be minimal because of the significant volume of orders—cars currently being delivered to customers were ordered one or two years ago.

Furthermore, the CEO disclosed information regarding the demographics of the company's clientele during an interview. Winkelmann states that, on average, Lamborghini purchasers possess five cars, while those who buy the priciest models own ten. The typical age of purchasers is below 45 years, while in Asia, it is below 30 years.

Lamborghini belongs to the Volkswagen Group. In 2024, the firm achieved unprecedented revenue exceeding €3 billion, with sales of 10,867 thousand vehicles.
