Obtaining such a license is necessary under a new state law that comes into force on September 1 and applies to robotaxi services in the same way as services where passengers are served by regular drivers.
The new law sets additional requirements and oversight measures for operators of driverless cars. Currently, it is envisaged that such vehicles must be insured, equipped with cameras, and be able to comply with traffic rules.
