Toshiba reports $1,05B net loss in 2019-2020

Net loss of the Japanese electronics giant Toshiba Corporation for the fiscal year 2019-2020 (ended March 31) amounted to 114.6 billion yen ($ 1.05 billion) against a profit of 1.013 trillion yen ($ 9.3 billion) a year earlier, according to the company’s reporting.

The loss per share was 236.39 yen ($ 2.16) versus a profit of 1,641.85 yen ($ 15.04) a year ago. The company's revenue decreased by 8.2% to 3.389 trillion yen ($ 31.05 billion). At the same time, operating profit amounted to 130.5 billion yen (1.19 billion dollars), which is 3.6 times higher than a year ago.

The company predicts revenue for the fiscal year 2020-2021 at 3.2 trillion yen ($ 29.3 billion), and operating profit - at 110 billion yen ($ 1 billion).
