This year, Alibaba's sale festival was held in a new format, which only began to be implemented last year. While the sale was previously a 24-hour sale, this year and last year there were two so-called "sales windows", discounted goods could be purchased from November 1 to 3, as well as throughout the day starting at midnight on November 11.

More than 900 million shoppers and 290,000 brands participated in this year's sale, including more than 200 luxury and designer brands. Over 70,000 brands joined the promotions on Alibaba platforms for the first time, including luxury brands Max Mara, Saint Laurent, Van Cleef & Arpels and Thom Browne.

Alibaba Group president Michael Evans stressed that the pandemic created unprecedented challenges for brands and retailers, but also accelerated their digital transformation, as evidenced by brands' strategies for engaging with consumers during this year's Bachelor's Day sale.
