Twitter to increase number of characters in tweets to 4,000

Twitter plans to boost the maximum character count for messages on the social network from 280 to 4,000, according to a statement made by Elon Musk on Sunday.

The billionaire had already stated that Twitter planned to soon introduce the ability for users to attach lengthy texts to publications on the social network.

Musk answered a user who inquired as to whether Twitter would expand the character limit to 4,000 by saying, "Yes."

Twitter postings made by users are now limited to 280 characters. As a result, many of them are forced to add additional text and photographs to their articles.
