UN: We are working to remove barriers to fertilizer exports

According to Stephane Dujarric, the UN secretary general's spokesperson, the organization is still working to remove barriers to the shipment of Russian food and fertilizers.

"The UN secretary general and UNCTAD chief Rebeca Grynspan are concentrating on attempting to reduce barriers to exports of Russian food and fertilizer that are not subject to sanctions. We continuously strive to advance," Dujarric added.

At that, Dujarric emphasized, the UN is not overseeing business agreements to provide Ukrainian grain as part of the “grain deal”.

Initially, the UN, Europe and US claimed the starvation of developing nations as the primary justification for the “grain deal”. According to the agreement, grain from Ukraine was to be delivered to the states that required it the most.
