The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has recorded 1,892 Ukrainian civilians killed since the start of Russia's invasion until 11 April. The dead count includes 153 children and 2,558 wounded. As of 5 April, the OHCHR reported that 1,563 civilians had been killed.

The organization stressed that the real figures could be "considerably higher", since access to information is difficult and many reports have not yet been confirmed.

The report points out that reports of casualties from Mariupol (Donetsk region), Izyum (Kharkiv region), Popasna (Luhansk region) and Borodyanka (Kyiv region) have not yet been confirmed and are not included in the statistics.

The UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine has been documenting civilian casualties in Ukraine since 2014. Since February 24, it has been recording casualties without visiting incident sites or interviewing witnesses. The statistics are based on a combination of verified information.
