US may ban Chinese TikTok


The US authorities want to consider a possibility of banning the popular application Chinese TikTok in the country. The corresponding statement was made by Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on Fox News.

There are over 30 million TikTok users in the United States. The Secretary of State was asked whether the authorities of the country, following India, were considering banning the work of this social network. 

"We take this very seriously. We definitely consider this issue. What about the Chinese applications installed on people on smartphones, I assure you that the United States will take appropriate measures," said Pompeo.

He also recalled the Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE. Their Washington previously declared a threat to US national security,

Recall that on June 29, India blocked 59 mobile applications that were developed in China, including the TikTok service, on its territory, since it "adversely affected the sovereignty and security of the country."
