According to Erik Severinson, head of new vehicle and operational strategy at Volvo, Sweden, the business has assembled its final diesel-powered car and now intends to produce exclusively electric vehicles by 2030, as reported by Bloomberg.

"Volvo Car AB has assembled its last diesel-powered car, ending an era for the manufacturer that now plans to build only electric vehicles by 2030," Severinson said.

He added that on Tuesday night, the final diesel-powered XC90 SUV came off the assembly line at the Torsland (near Gothenburg) plant. "We are quite sure that we have very good offers for customers even without diesel," Severinson stated.
