Linda Yaccarino, the chief of advertising at NBCUniversal, is in negotiations to lead Twitter, according to The Wall Street Journal, which cited persons familiar with the situation.

Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, said the previous day that he had picked a new CEO and that the position would be filled by a woman in six weeks.

Yaccarino has been employed by NBCUniversal for more than ten years and is the head of global partnerships and advertising. She was a crucial part of the Peacock streaming service's launch.

Yaccarino has made a name for herself in the industry as a supporter of practical methods for gauging the success of advertising. Yaccarino manages around $13 billion in yearly advertising income in his capacity as head of advertising.
