The agreement, according to Bayer, is a part of a plan to increase the digital analysis of medical pictures produced with Bayer contrast agents on CT scanners, X-ray machines, and MRI scanners.

The company declined to comment on the deal's financial details.

With its contrast chemicals, injectable devices, and software, Bayer's radiology division generated sales of €1.8 billion in 2021, while the company's overall revenue reached €44 billion.

Sales in the radiology sector increased by 7% in the third quarter of last year as a result of rising demand for scans for malignancy and cardiovascular diagnoses.
