He noted that the second half of March and April were the most difficult for the country's economy and labor market. “In April, the economy worked only 40% of its capabilities... In May, we began to launch certain areas of the economy... (Now) we are in the process of reviving the economy,” President said.

According to the National Institute of Statistics and Information, in March-May alone the metropolitan region lost 2.3 million jobs as the number of employees decreased by 47.6% compared to the same period last year.

“We have planned a series of important investments that will be approved by the Council of Ministers on Wednesday through a special decree so that they are implemented as soon as possible and can be reflected in the second half of the year,” said Wiskarra. The sum is expected to reach 6.4 billion sols (or about $ 1.8 billion), which will be used to build roads across the country, improve urban infrastructure, and develop the agricultural industry. In total, it is planned to create 1 million 9.7 thousand jobs.

In total, 229 thousand 736 cases of coronavirus were registered in Peru, 6 thousand 688 people died, 115 thousand 579 patients were discharged from hospitals.
